Hi everyone,
I'm trying out Varicad as it seems pretty straightforward to use, compared to other 3D packages.

However, I'm having trouble with something that seems pretty easy to visualise but difficult to realise in practice.

I'm trying to model a record deck turntable and have started by generating the 3D disc at 300mm dianeter by 25mm thick.

No problem!

I reuire multiple pockets in the turntable round it's circumference, so I made another disc at 6mm by 3mm and translated it out to just inside the outside edge of the turntable disc.

Again, no problem!

However, I don't really want to generate another 99 discs and move one at a time round the circumference of the big disc.

In other 3D packages, I can select the object I want multiple copies off and then select a rotation point (in my case, the center of the big disc) and generate multiple copies round that point.

How do I do this in Varicad?

I've gone through all the help manuals I can find but nothing defines this action.

I look forward to any assisstance you can provide.

Thanks, in advance,
Sandy.

Hi.
Refering to menus.
Edit>Transform,copy.
Click the solid you want to copy, follow the prompts in the bottom left of the window.
(you would right click after selecting the solid(s) and then get a editing panel. Select a rotate arrow as appropriate, you might need to select the axis of the 300mm disc or a pre-defined axis may work. Type the angle and repeat with number of repeats (99).
