Mixed thread systems
When you start a drawing in millimeters for example, you can only select ISO threads with the thread tool. It could be better to have the possibility to use both of thread systems while working in millimeters or inches.
Threads in ISO vs. Imperial Units
If you working in millimeters, you can insert threads according to ISO - metric threads. If you working in inches, you can select threads according to ANSI. You can change the current units from millimeters to inches and you will be able to insert inch threads to document originally created in millimeters. Then, you can switch back to millimeters and the inch thread remains as inch thread.

However, thing twice - what is this good for? The threads in inches are the screw threads. They are used at screws, nuts, threaded holes etc...

They are not compatible with threads used at pipes. Such threads have different profiles. Although the outer diameter may be the same (for instance, 1/4"), the pitch and the inner diameter does not correspond to screw threads.
Re: Threads in ISO vs. Imperial Units
Ok, have to switch to 2D first and then switch from millimeters to inches for example, didn't know that until now.

I actually had to draw parts with threaded holes of both systems several times. For example to receive a special sensor.

I had never talk about pipes thread, but it could be useful to have this added in varicad.

Thx

This is not a solution, it wipes all the parameters set in the drawing when you change units.

Wouldn't it be more sensible to convert the inch thread dimensions to units of the drawing or allow input of thread dimensions manually.
Another request
Add me to the list of people in desperate need of better threading tools. Much as I would like to be 100% metric, I live in Canada so most or all of my drawings end up mixed imperial/metric. Switching the drawing units back & forth is no solution.

Pipe threads would be good.

Mixed units
This is a basic need. All markets are going planetary and the fact is that in all of the americas people use parts from the USA and parts from Europe or Asia.

This is a serious requirement that is in place with most if not all competing products to VariCAD.

Having the drawing settings on one set of units is one thing (for example paper) but these should not apply automatically to parts, or it should be possible to switch the units without affecting drawing paramaters and other parts already in drawing.
