Hi, 1) when drawing a line, the toolbar which pops up has a >> icon on the right side. This is used normally to show other icons currently not visible in the toolbar (in this case I was looking for the 'Freehand', 'Separate objects', 'One object' etc icons). However, if I click on the >>, nothing happens, and the next time when I try to draw a line, this toolbar is completely empty, and I need to remove ~/.varicad in order to make it work again. I consider this as a bug. 2) If I have a polygon (single object consisting of several segments), it is possible move the endpoints of its segments using the 'stretch' function, but it's a long procedure, and little intuitive. Is there no way to just select one point on the polygon, and move it to another location? |

add 1) We are not aware of any such an issue. In the current VariCAD 2008 3.04 there no such issues have been reported. Please can you send us screenshots at support@varicad.com? Also, what version of VariCAD are you using? and which operating system are you running it on? Thank you. add 2) It can be done very simply using the "Stretch" tool. |

Thank you. I have already looked at them. I have just tried it again on different operating systems both Windows (XP, Vista / 7) and Linux (Kubuntu 7.04). It worked well on all of them. I have not checked it yet on openSuSE 11.1. Also, I just sent you an email to ask you for additional information about your system. Thanks again. Marek |

Sorry, I have not received your email, it is not even in my spam box (although varicad.com is on my whitelist). Could you try it again or post your questions here? I checked it now on kubuntu 7.10, VariCAD 3.03. I have almost the same problem: if I click >>, nothing happens, and when I go to 'Draw line' mode again, the toolbar is completely empty. However, if I quit and restart varicad, the toolbar works again, no need to remove my .varicad directory. Very strange. No idea what to check. However, it is not a terrible problem, I could live without clicking >> up to now, I can continue my life like this. Thank you Daniel |

As to my email, I have just resent it. Please check your inbox. I really have no idea why it behaves for you in this way. When trying it here at different computers with different operating systems it works well everywhere. Marek |

Hi, I have not received it. Our institute is running very strict rules in accepting emails - and makes sometimes mistakes, rejecting mails from my home institute once, for several days. Anyway, since this is not reproducible on your computers, it will be hard to debug and correct. If you feel you can do something about it, I can post you details of my system, please ask for these details in this thread. Thanks a lot Daniel |

Hi Daniel, I have just discussed it with our developers. This problem may occur under Linux due to the QT version currently used in VariCAD. With the new QT version, which we are going to use, it should be resolved. Marek |
ok, thanks a lot. |

I have just updated to 3.04-1 on SUSE 11.0 x64 KDE 3.5.9. I don't get the >> but have the full tool bar and don't seem to get this problem. Which version of KDE are you running. |
