tangent to circle
Hi,
I would like to draw a straight line, which is tangent to a circle AT a given point, and then check the intersection of this line with another one. Any suggestion how to do it easily, without extra math?
Thanks
tangent to circle at a point
I think this feature (tangent line to a circle, at a given point of that circle) is non-existent in varicad. Qcad had this feature, it was useful. Could this be implemented in the future?
Thanks
tangent to circle
One way is to draw a line from the point on the circle (where the tangent is to be) to the centre. Then add a line perpendicular or rotate the just drawn line 90 degrees about the intersection point.

There seems to be a tangent modifier for snapping when you translate a line, but it doesn't work (or not as we'd expect).
tangent to circle at a given point
That's true, thanks.
Another solution is:
1) click the point on the circle, where you want to draw the tangent
2) select the 'Intersection and Angle' option from the toolbar
3) In the 'Angle' dialog, click the right arrow, and select 'Define angle by 2 points'. Click the center of the circle and the given point on the circumference. The angle is displayed in the dialog, append +90 or -90 to this
4) Select the limiting boundary where you want your tangent line to finish
