Printing problems
I have a printer Xerox Phaser 8560, which is set up for A4 pages (both in cups, and in VariCAD). However, if I want to print an A4 drawing, VariCAD claims that it exceeds the page limits, and needs to scale it or crop it. Why?

Another bug: if I click Cancel in the VariCAD print dialog, I get an empty page out of the printer.

Open your 2D drawing in VariCAD and type the "BOR" command. It will display your sheet border, as you have set it in VariCAD (menu "Tools > Change Drawing Format").
Is your drawing really within this sheet border? And is it set to A4?
printing problems
I always set up the drawing format (A4 in this case) and put a sheet border, so that I can arrange everything within these borders (this is the only way to print correctly, otherwise things gets messed up). I tried it on 3 different A4 printers, in all cases I had the same problem (VariCAD error message).
Since I wanted to have a 1:1 printout, I selected 'Trim, adjust to center'. The printouts are indeed 1:1, but a larger than needed margin is trimmed (different for the different printers). If I did 'Print, Varicad drivers >> Postscript file', then the resulting output file is A4, as it should be, and prints nicely on the printer. It matches (in position and scale) the direct printouts, except that the direct printouts have a large margin trimmed off, as explained above.
This seems to be a recent problem, in earlier VariCAD versions I could print directly.

When you go to the printing dialogue there is a comment "Maximum Printing Size" on the right.
Would these sizes define the white border you are actually getting. I have never worked out where these sizes come from, I cannot find them on my system setup anywhere, but I do know I have to always keep printing within these limits.

Can anybody help with changing these "Maximum Printing Size" values.
sheet border
The interesting thing is that it is the SHEET BORDER itself (set up by VariCAD, when I push the corresponding button) which is outside of the area, which VariCAD believes to be usable. This already creates the problem mentioned in my first comment.

To demonstrate this, I created a new, empty 2D drawing, A4 papersize, 1:1 scale, and I only put a sheet border, and tried to print it. VariCAD said "Desired format exceeds paper size". This is clearly a bug in the latest version. In previous versions I don't remember having seen this.
sheet border
I have always had this problem with varicad. I think it is a bug they have never addressed.
I now use a work around I discussed in an earlier discussion on printing.
