Changes in 3D modeling.
Creating loft between contours or helices, the outlines keep their original geometry – they are no longer detected as the only NURBS curves. This improves further detections or locations at these objects, at the bottom/top or start/end planar patches. Moreover, there are some further improvements related to Boolean operations or blending.
Working with a solid tree structure, you have multiple options and shortcuts to access changes in the tree structure or copying or moving out parts of the tree (solid elements or branches). Now, you can select multiple elements or branches at a time for copy/move.
Also, there are new options in 3D section management. It is possible to draw a section contour not only in a sketching plane selected in 3D (usually as a planar surface), but also according to a current view – similarly as in 2D drawing. Location and height of a section tool (dimensions of section planes) can be selected within one click from a pop-up menu option. If you want to cancel the definition of the section planes, you can select whether the section tool will be copied into 3D, or discarded.
If sections are turned off while loading assembly, you are prompted in a dialog panel and then, these sections are marked in the section management.
Additional options in 2D dimensioning.
Creating 2D text associated with the arrow, you can insert multiple lines both above and under the horizontal line. Dimensioning of ANSI threads offer possibilities to modify the signature of a thread, as well as displaying threads per inch.
Interface.
Now, temporary toolbars with options (like selection in 2D, in 3D, locations etc.) are located exactly into the upper left corner of a drawing window. This is by default, but optional. It can be managed with the command “cfg”.
New version offers an additional set of icons 32x32 pixels, which is convenient for some display resolutions together with monitor size (typically QHD on 24”).
Also, it is easier to define a view perpendicularly to a selected plane, where the options are incorporated into command icons pop-up to easily reach the preferred method.
Extremely large files.
From now on, there are virtually no limits for opening extremely large files. The limit is memory size and power of CPU/GPU.
New version of VariCAD Viewer 2025-2.0
This new version contains significant changes – a possibility to manage sections as a full version (define, edit or delete sections), in 2D you can change line style or width (in addition to existing color changes) and generally, you can right-click an object and select available functions, or right-click an empty location and also select available functions. You can open extremely large files – the limit is memory size and power of CPU/GPU.
