VariCAD - CAD system requirements
True Color mode and hardware support of OpenGL are always required.
Windows version
recommended minimum configuration:
- at least 2GHz processor
- 1GB RAM
- HDD 250MB
- graphic card with hardware support of OpenGL graphics
- three-buttoned mouse
- Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7
Linux version
recommended minimum configuration:
- OpenGL libraries
- XServer supporting OpenGL (extension GLX)
- at least 2GHz
- 512MB RAM, HDD 250MB
- graphic card with hardware support of OpenGL graphics
For VariCAD 64-bit, we recommend more memory than for a 32-bit version.
Test your hadware
Hardware requiremnets depend on how large and complicated are 3D models you are working with. VariCAD offers its own hardware test tools. For these tests, it is enough to use VariCAD Viewer. After opening a reference file enter a "HWTEST" command. VariCAD will test this asssembly file on your hardware. You can compare results with an example you can see on the picture (in this example: Intel CoreDuo 2 CPU E4500, 2.2GHz, 2MB RAM, nVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT. Results for current standard hardware are even lower.) These values correspond with recommended configuration, which is suitable for assemblies containing up to 1,000 parts. The reference assembly contains 1,500 parts. For larger assemblies, use more powerful hardware.
